||Being on my first PhD year at the University of Patras, I am particularly interested in the matters of locality and mostly in wh-questions. I strongly believe (a belief that reflects my MPhil research interests, as well) that there should be a way to keep all the theoretical advantages that derived from the adoption of the empty categories (during the GB -period)by taking advantage of the leading ideas of the minimalist research program. Definitely, the task is not easy since one should be very careful so as not to just rephrase or revive a theory internal technicality that has turned out to be ambiguous, and that is the trace theory. However, the linguistic observations that led to the postulation of empty categories, trace theory and ECP still seek for explanations.
I chose the specific summer school for two particular reasons. Firstly, I would like to live for the second time after my MPhil the experience of meeting new people with the same interests as mine, get to now each others work and be able to exchange ideas. Secondly, I have already worked with Theresa Biberauer during my MPhil year and I would like to be given the opportunity to work with her again. Lastly, I haven't had in the past any similar experience such as an interactive summer school and I have the feeling that it will be very helpful, since I will be with people who, as I read in your web page, share with me a mutual characteristic; they like what they do.
