This course assumes a basic knowledge of Government Phonology. Topics to be
discussed include:
- Licensing Constraints
- Consonantal Representations
- Tonal Systems
- Phonological system parameters
- The (non-) role of phonetics in phonology
- The Phonology-Morphology interface
There are five papers available as a background for this and the other class by Kaye.
